DRAGOMAN COMPANIONS

Met half of our group this morning - the other half is continuing from a prior leg and we'll be meeting them for drinkies tonight. It is a FULL LOAD . . . 23 people and the two drivers told us it is going to be SQUISHED. Not helping matters is that Dad & I are the ONLY ONES who have two pieces of luggage each, and our individual bags are bigger than most people's single loads. Argh. We suck.

The group is a lot different than the World Expeditions group . . . mostly singles, all ages, more nationalities. Seems good so far. I am sharing a room tonight at the Holy Lodge tonight with a German girl named Carmen. It is a MAJOR downgrade from the Radisson, I must say - resident rodents on first floor (apparently), you can see into our shower from the stairs, gross stains everywhere that you don't want to think about . . . you catch my drift. It does have a private bathroom with cold shower, however.

Our leaders, Adam & Steve, are young and inexperienced. This is Adam's first trip as main leader and Steve is still in training. They are working on the truck right now and promise it will be ready by Midnight. We leave at 8AM tomorrow, attempt to squash all the luggage in and have a long day's drive back to Chitwan for two nights before we hit the border crossing into India. Likely no posts for quite a while . . . wish me luck!
