I WAS WALKIN' THRU THE PARK ONE DAY . . .

Inspiration Point/Presidio
Today, as a matter of fact. It isn't May and I myself wasn't surprised by a pair of lovely eyes.

My eyes, however, did surprise a guy peeing in the bushes while his girlfriend was frantically telling him to "hurry up, hurry up, someone's COMING!" And I WAS surprised by the insane number of dog walkers and their packs of hot, tired, panting, disgruntled and mostly UNLEASHED dogs. (Yeah, I know San Franciscans are all up in arms about adding more leash laws, but Christ). And just because they're pooping halfway on the grass and halfway on the trails does NOT mean you shouldn't pick it up and just pretend it didn't happen.

Bridge Graffiti/Presidio
I powered through about five miles and once you got away from the dogs and the golf course teeming with fat sunburned guys in polo shirts and baseball caps, it was pretty peaceful. Kind of weirdly peaceful for being in a big city.

But it's the Presidio. The place where the Zodiac Killer escaped. And they never DID catch him. So even though it was the middle of the afternoon and there were people around, the woodsy nature thing started creeping me out a little bit. I'm thinking tomorrow maybe I'll walk to the beach instead.
