"GIRRRRLLLLLL . . .

You don't want NO jeans bein' all BAG-gie on you . . .
n' I SWEAR to you that they WILL be."

So sayeth Dominique at The Levi's Store on 14th Street.
And, really now, who am I to disagree?

Have had a great weekend, laid low and basically slept through it all. Was completely antisocial and blew off both my friend Steve Northeast's CD release party at Crash Mansion and my friend Katharyn's invite to a play. So, I may suck as a friend, but the upside is that I feel really good physically and think I have kicked the general flu --- although not, unfortunately, the lurking Nepali/Indian parasites.

So here is my exciting news. All my post-NY-move clothes (um, yeah, the ones I've been wearing and buying since the end of 1999!!!!) are literally falling off me. Including my beloved Levi's. It's not a good look. So, I went to the Levi's store today after checking out all the new styles online. I thought to myself "Self, you might just want to see what some of these Women's styles are like vs. your standard Men's 501 button-flys."

I got into the store and this hip young thang named Dominique is helping me. I have armloads of stuff in various sizes, because I don't even know what size I AM anymore. Long story longer . . . I am now a size 6 and probably could have gone to a 4. (Dominique was pushing that but I feel like I'm just a little old for the hoochy pant look - I'm already a cougar, I don't need to advertise it, right?) I came out to the fluorescent light, multi-mirror, very public viewing area and . . . I looked good! I haven't worn a 6 without looking like an Oscar Meyer Ball Park Frank in YEARS. I was most certainly NOT a "chubby bubby," as my last boyfriend used to call me in a humorous (to him) and horribly hurtful (to me) way.

As one does under these circumstances, I bought four pairs, all different styles, and nary a Men's 501 in the bunch. No belly roll. No camel toe. No swish-swish thigh-rub sound. I felt hot. Haven't felt like that whilst clothes shopping in a ridiculously long time. I actually feel like next weekend might require a shopping trip (which you know I HATE) because I am feeling good about the bod right now, even if it IS due to some as-yet-undiagnosed illness:-)

May you all have a good jeans week . . .

Stormi
