WE MADE IT!!!!

We are here!!!! Just checked into the lovely (but nasty smelling) Radisson Hotel in Kathmandu a bit ago. Long, long, looooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggggggggggg trip, but really easy and hassle-free. Have a gazillion pix of us together and individually looking more bedraggled at each airport:-) Need to find a way to post a couple of the cuter ones of me when I'm not at the hotel's biz center (which doesn't allow).

So from JFK to Hong Kong was 16 butt-busting hours filled with unhappy, noisy little kids and two inches of leg room. Hong Kong to Bangkok another 2-1/2 hours, but ended with an all too short night at the GORGEOUS Novotel Airport Hotel. Wow. One of the nicer places I've stayed and a delicious breakfast with all kinds of Asian goodies. Then up early this morning and another 3-1/2 flight to Kathmandu. Found out we were on the wrong side of the plane to see Everest. Oh well . . . and oh yeah. Lots of free wine on all flights so at least we were jolly even if we weren't sleeping.

It's hot and humid, but not as bad as we'd anticipated. We have WAY more stuff than anyone else we've seen so far. I also realized I've overtipped like 20X the recommended amount so far and need to reign it in as I am the keeper of the tip jar in this Dykes' duo. More to come . . .
